You Need Oregon Contracts
The Oregon Construction Contractors Board enforces Oregon law. The CCB initiates
more than 6,000 investigations annually. Penalties can include fines up to $2,000
and suspension of a contracting license. Nearly a thousand Oregon contractors are
suspended annually by CCB. Another 600 get warnings.
Staying legal in Oregon isn't easy. Failure to provide the notices required by Oregon

up to $2,000 for the second offense and suspension of a contracting license for
the third offense.
Failure to disclose to an owner that a building permit is required for the job can
result in penalties which include suspension of registration, a fine up to $2,000
and imprisonment for up to one year.
Failure to get an agreement on arbitration of disputes results in loss of the contractor's
right to compel arbitration.
Oregon Revised Statutes § 87.037 denies lien rights to any prime contractor who
does work valued at over $2,000 without a written contract.
Under Oregon Administrative Rules § 812-012-0110, failure to get a signed contract
is a violation of Oregon Revised Statutes § 701.305 and is punishable by a fine
of from $500 to $2,000.

someone for their own negligence.

month plus attorney fees on late payments.
